Seminar “Strengthening Collaboration Between Project Organizations and Local Authorities” at the Bartlett Faculty of the Build Environment, UCL

An event funded by the prestigious British Academy Leverhulme grant was recently held to present groundbreaking research on the often-overlooked challenges between project-delivery organizations and local authorities in the planning and execution of major infrastructure projects.

Drawing on over 70 interviews, direct observations, and insights from a dedicated roundtable discussion, the research compared two major UK megaprojects to identify common symptoms (what does not work), offer diagnoses (why it does not work), and recommend treatments (how it can work better).

The findings culminated in a practical roadmap for successful collaboration, aimed at project-delivery organizations, local authorities involved in the consent process, and government bodies seeking to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of major infrastructure delivery.

The bridgeUkraine.org team attended the seminar to expand its professional network and promote the bridgeUkraine Alliance, further strengthening partnerships aimed at supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction and long-term development.
