On 27 May 2025, the bridgeUkraine.org Alliance held a strategic meeting with Viktor Riabokin, representative of Vidbudova.org, to explore collaboration opportunities and jointly support Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction efforts. The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two initiatives, marking the beginning of a formal partnership grounded in shared values of sustainability, innovation, and community-led development.

Vidbudova.org is a Ukrainian initiative dedicated to the reconstruction and revitalization of Ukraine in the aftermath of the ongoing conflict. Bringing together architects, urban planners, engineers, and social entrepreneurs, the platform focuses on designing and developing future-proof communities that are safe, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable.
One of the flagship projects presented during the meeting is the development of a 15-minute “city within a city”, to be built on 118 hectares of land located 5 km from Kyiv. The project envisions a self-sufficient urban environment that will provide sustainable housing and services for over 25,000 residents.
Several areas for joint action were identified, including collaboration on sustainable infrastructure design and capacity-building for Ukrainian professionals to support research and innovation in Ukraine’s built environment.
This partnership reinforces bridgeUkraine’s mission to connect academia, civil society, and industry in support of Ukraine’s resilient recovery, and highlights the growing international effort to co-create a more sustainable and inclusive future for Ukrainian communities.
